Teaching Assistant Positions for Undergraduate Tech Minor Courses
Job Description
The Graduate School of Management is now accepting applications for Teaching Assistant (TA) appointments for the Fall 2025, Winter 2026, and Spring 2026 terms. These positions support undergraduate technology minor courses and will be assigned at 25%-50% (10-20 hours per week).
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet minimum eligibility restrictions:
- Must be full-time enrolled UC Davis graduate students.
- Must be in good academic standing (requires a grade-point average of at least 3.0 in academic work, no incomplete or no grades, and status within normative time and/or time to degree standards).
- Must provide evidence of employment eligibility (US Citizen, lawful Permanent Resident, eligible Visa status (J1, F1), Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
- Must receive Employment Disclosure clearance.
- Must disclose if applicant is subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last 7 years determining that they committed any misconduct, are currently being investigated for misconduct, left a position during an investigation for alleged misconduct, or have filed an appeal with a previous employer. “Misconduct” means any violation of the policies or laws governing conduct at the applicant’s previous place of employment, including, but not limited to, violations of policies or laws prohibiting sexual harassment, sexual assault, or other forms of harassment, discrimination, dishonesty, or unethical conduct, as defined by the employer.
- Must meet TA English Language Requirements via TALRA.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience are highly preferred.
- Graduate student with completion of first year core business course(s) at an accredited university with a letter grade of B or above at the time of appointment or instructor preference: (MBA Core Courses)
- Work experience related to business
- Interest in pursuing a professional career in business or teaching
- Prior tutoring experience
- Effective communication and writing skills
- Familiarity with Canvas

Recruitment Period
Applicants will be screened after two weeks; and then on a weekly basis until positions are filled. Please ensure that all required documents are submitted to be considered for an open position.
Courses Available for Teaching Assistantships
These TA positions will cover the following courses and are planned for each quarter. Each course will include weekly discussion sections led by Teaching Assistants (TAs).
Fall 2025: MGT 120, MGT 140, MGT 150, MGT 151, MGT 180
Winter 2026: MGT 120, MGT 140, MGT 150, MGT 151, MGT 180
Spring 2026: MGT 120, MGT 140, MGT 150, MGT 151, MGT 160, MGT 180

Tasks and Duties
TA tasks and duties include assisting the instructor with course needs such as (not limited to):
- Instruction of assigned weekly discussion section.
- Preparation: Responsible for the preparation of each discussion prior to each session.
- Office Hours: Hold at least 1 hours per week for open office hours, to meet with students, answer questions (including emails), or otherwise be a resource to students.
- Meetings with supervisory Instructor: The supervising instructor will meet with you for 30 mins each week to discuss workload, address issues, and review student progress.
- Record Keeping: Maintain and submit all student records (e.g. records of student attendance, grades, participation), as required.
- Attending lectures: The TA is responsible (after accepting a TA offer) to connect with the instructor of record no later than one week before the quarter begins to discuss the specific duties, sections and office hours.
- TA Orientation: The TA is responsible for attending the UC Davis TA Orientation prior to assuming TA responsibilities.
