Declaring the Business Major

Changing or adding the business major (starting Fall 2027)

Due to high demand and limited capacity, the UC Davis business major is capped at 50 changes of major per year. Beginning in 2027, eligible students who wish to change to or add the business major must apply through lottery. This process ensures equitable access while maintaining academic standards.

Every student majoring in business is assigned an advisor who serves as a source of knowledge and support. This partnership begins the summer before matriculation and continues to graduation.  

Advisors work closely with offices across the UC Davis campus to help create better experience for students as they grow intellectually, socially and professionally. Advisors are a point of contact for a variety of issues and questions including the following:

The two internationally renowned senior faculty members will retire from their academic roles on July 1, 2025. Each leaves a legacy of scholarship, mentorship and service that has shaped the School and influenced their respective fields.
