My impact as a student leader and MBA Ambassador

I chose the UC Davis Graduate School of Management (GSM) specifically because of the opportunities the MBA program provides to become a collaborative leader, grow personally and professionally and make a positive impact.

During our Sacramento Part-Time MBA new student orientation before the start of our first quarter, I learned about student governance and its role in shaping our student experience and success.

I immediately recognized that the student government (Graduate School of Management Student Association Sacramento, or GSMSA, as it is known) would give me the opportunity to connect with my peers, faculty and staff leadership across the program.

I understood that I could be instrumental in ensuring that my classmates’ voices were heard. I could help address their needs and concerns, and in so doing, I could help to build an environment based on equitable and positive outcomes where each student would feel able to discover their potential.

Dedicated to an “Exceptional Student Experience”

I was fortunate enough to be elected president of the GSMSA. I also decided to join the MBA Ambassador program so that I could share my perspective as an MBA student and introduce prospective students to our collaborative culture and innovative learning environment.

I’m proud to serve on a board of exceptional student leaders. I’ve found a mentor in Brandyn Lee, the current GSMSA student body president. I’m inspired by my peers’ collaborative spirits and their unwavering dedication to create an exceptional experience for all students at the School.

MBA Ambassadors Offer Insider Insights

At the GSM, I have encountered the most supportive community of classmates, educators, leaders and administrators. I wanted to actively promote this culture of inspiration, collaboration and encouragement.

That’s why I joined the MBA Ambassador Program. As an ambassador, I’m able to share my experiences and insights about the UC Davis MBA program in conversations I have with prospective students who are seeking first-hand information and details about the program only available by talking with us—current students.

To the future leaders reading this, I encourage you to discover your potential at UC Davis. You’ll have the opportunity to thrive and grow in a collaborative atmosphere where you will learn from and network with talented and passionate peers, globally recognized faculty, alumni ready to help you, dedicated staff and top industry executives, all of whom will prepare you for career success.
