Online MBA alumnus Angel Melchor's new venture INN>CHG recently won our Big Bang! Business Competition as the Yolo County-based startup builds an Airbnb-like service to eliminate range anxiety for electric vehicle drivers.

Lecturer Suzy Taherian says despite a low national unemployment rate of 4.8%, there's a labor shortage in California involving both low-skilled and high-skilled workers due to numerous factors, such as childcare, more people working for themselves, the cushion provided by benefits, and baby boomers retiring. And yet California has the highest unemployment rate of any state except Nevada.
Though I came to UC Davis for its beautiful campus, I stayed because of the beautifully-collaborative and uplifting community. I’m thankful to be an Aggie through and through because this community continues to foster my professional and personal growth.
