The GSM started a series of blogs from some of the first-year
students completing their internships this summer. So, if you are
interested in learning about a particular functional area, check
these blogs out!
Hi! Long time, no blog! I must admit, the posting on the blog is
slow this summer, so please accept my apologies about that!
However, I thought this would be the case — it’s summertime! Half
of the regular posters have now graduated, and the other half are
super busy with internships. And then there’s me. I’m one of
those busy with an internship, but also very busy with
the California Women Business Leaders study.
Whew! I just finished the first week of my internship at Agilent
Technologies. What a great experience so far. Before coming to
school, I worked for a small commercial real estate investment
firm with 12 employees. Now I am interning at a multi-national,
publicly traded company with thousands of employees across the
world. What a difference a year makes.
Prior to coming back to school, I had a lot of expectations. I
purchased a new suit, dress shirts, ties and dress shoes. I
subscribed to the Wall Street Journal, watched MSNBC and brushed
up on my current business events. I wanted to be the picture of
professionalism, but my expectations were way off.
Yesterday was a big day! And it all began in September! Let me explain. Keith, fellow 1st-year (not to mention famous), and I were talking when school first started, back in the yore of September 2008.
