Crystal Coleman has taught undergraduate and graduate level accountancy courses at CSU Sacramento and UC Davis for over 20 years. Her professional experience includes both private industry and public accounting and her current role is an audit principal (partner) with CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA), a Top 10 Firm with offices nationwide. Coleman leads the employee benefit plan practice for the Southwest Region of CLA and a licensed Certified Public Accountant and earned her Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation in 2009. She has presented at the AICPA National Conference on Employee Benefits Plans, the Western Pension & Benefits Council and ISCEBS Symposium and was the first edition co-author of Risk Based Audits of Employee Benefit Plans, a Wolters-Kluwer technical publication.

Coleman served as a Director and Audit Committee Chair for Five Star Bank, a community bank with assets over $1 billion from 2013 to 2019. She has served on many boards including, the Sac State College of Business Advisory Council, the Sacramento Construction Management Education Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sacramento, the Sacramento Chapter of Western Pension& Benefits Council, the Africa Hope Fund and the Sutter Club.

Coleman's personal interests include reading, cooking, hiking/snowshoeing and international adventure travel. To date, her travels have taken her to all 7 continents, the high Arctic and include extensive travel throughout Africa.
